If you have been affected by redundancy or you are consider a career change, or if you are considering starting your own business as a result of changes to your situation, there are a number of useful resources to help you decide what steps to take next.

Department for Work and Pensions 

Offering employment support the Department for Work and Pensions provide access to a job search, information on apprenticeships, and information on help available if you have been affected by coronavirus.

National Careers Service

The National Careers Service can support individuals who have faced redundancy to find employment, make a career change, identify their transferrable skills, create and update CV’s, develop Interview techniques and conduct skills analysis.

Serco – Skills Support for Redundancy

The Skills Support for Redundancy programme supports those who have been made redundant within 3 months, or are facing redundancy, and provides training to upskill or retrain to help individuals get back into the workforce.

The programme is co-financed by the Education & Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund which means many of the courses and qualifications on offer are free.

Local Partnership Co-ordinators work with individuals to identify the best training available to achieve their goals, with a wide range on offer through a network of expert training providers including, IT Skills, Administration, Leadership & Management, Education, Health & Social Care, Warehousing & Storage, Retail, and many more.




Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce - Start Up Support 

For those who are considering starting a new business, following redundancy, the C&W Chamber Start Up Team can provide free coaching and advice to clients in Coventry & Warwickshire to support individuals to launch their new venture.

This support can help plan and put into motion, certain critical elements, such as free workshops, advice and guidance on aspects involved in setting up a business and one-to-one mentoring from an experienced Business Adviser.

The start-up service is funded by ERDF, Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire’s District & Borough Councils.
